Patriot Camps of America is a non-profit organization that provides a way for grade-school aged children to learn about their civil freedoms in a fun, energetic, and positive atmosphere. At camp, your children can find like-minded friends, learn patriot songs, internalize the principles enshrined in their country’s founding documents, and develop a love for the inalienable rights that their country was created to protect.
Middle and High School aged youth attend their local camp as “Teen Leaders”. These wonderful young people gain life experience while enriching their resume. Each is assigned to a group of campers to guide them from station to station, take role, and to make camp positive and fun. As a way to say thank you, Teen Leaders receive a discounted rate and get to participate in camp activities.
Throughout the week, many historical figures will visit camp to teach the youth about what it means to be an American and how our nation began. Your child will have the privilege to interact with and learn directly from the Pilgrims, Founding Fathers, American presidents, and many other historical figures! Each historical guest contributed to and shaped this great nation, which was built on the principles of freedom and individual responsibility.
In addition to the interactive history lessons, our campers learn patriotically themed songs, play games, and make crafts to bring home each day. One of the many favorite activities is when our campers get to learn about and reenact the Boston Tea Party! What was it like to live in the colonies under high taxes and unfair trade regulations? Your child will find out as they disguise themselves, as the Sons of Liberty did, and toss the tea overboard into the Boston Harbor. Freedom!!
The pinnacle moment of camp is when family and friends all come together on the last day for the awards ceremony and music program. This ceremony not only celebrates America, but showcases the amazing songs that your child learned at camp. Awards will be given to those who participate in and complete the camp challenges. All three of the challenges (Patriot Challenge, Statesman’s Challenge, and the Patriot Scholar’s Award) test how well the camper knows and understands our inalienable freedoms enshrined in the country’s indispensable founding documents.
